SUPPLY LIST for Marjorie Turnbull's Colour Workshop:

 

Bring whatever medium to choose to work in. You will need Paper for WATERCOLOURS and a BOARD and TAPE and PAPER TOWELS.

 

Canvas boards or gessoed boards or canvas for OILS or ACRYLICS  - 8X10 are best or 10X12, no larger than 12x16.  You will need at least two boards each day.  The first day you may want a few more smaller boards.  A table or lightweight easel if you have one. A pallet.  PAPER TOWELS. You will need at least two or three brushes.

 

WATERCOLOUR:  A small round, two flats or brights 1/2" and 3/4" or bring what you have.

 

OILS/ACRYLICS:  One very small round and two flats or brights ranging from #4  to #8.  If you have a larger brushes like #12 bring them.  Bring what you have.  Bristle brushes are best for oils, not so good for acrylics.

 

PAINTS:

 

These are the colours that you will need.  We will be working with a warm and a cool of each colour.  In acrylics, look for pure colours, some have a lot of white in them.

 

  • Cerulean Blue Hue

  • Ultramarine Blue

 

  • Cadmium Yellow Light OR Lemon Yellow

  • Cadmium Yellow Medium OR Cadmium Yellow Deep OR any warmer yellow

 

  • Orange

  • Cadmium Red Light

 

  • Cadmium Red Medium OR Bright Red OR Azo Red OR any warm red

  • Alizarin Crimson OR Magenta OR any blue/red

 

  • Purple

  • Manganese Violet OR a cheap Cobalt Violet OR any blue/purple

 

  • Sap Green

  • Viridian OR Pthalo Green OR Hookers Green Deep

 

  • White

 

NO OIL MEDIUMS OR SOLVENTS

Soap or vegetable oil to clean oil brushes.

Liquid Matte Medium for Acrylics
