Here's news about the new
Quadra Island golf course
Quadra Island is
home to a lively close-knit community of 2,700 people from all walks
of life and all parts of the world. The We Wai Kai band of the
indigenous
Laichwiltach People, (Kwa' Kwa' Ka' Wa'Kw First Nation) reside
at
Cape Mudge (Yaculta). Nearby
Quathiaski Cove is the main port of arrival and commercial hub
of the island. Picturesque
Heriot Bay serves as departure point for the ferry to
Cortes Island
and other boat services to the outer
Discovery
Islands.
Arts,
culture,
adventure
recreation, scenery and the laid-back island lifestyle are just
a few of the reasons people come to live or visit Quadra Island.
Whatever your
reason we bid you welcome!
We also have 2 grocery stores on the island, with 2 liquor
outlets, a pharmacy, a chiropractor, dentist and several
excellent health practitioners.
We will be happy to assist you in planning your
activities while on the Island with information, maps, and personal
experiences.
We had the good fortune of spending a week
on this beautiful island--hiking, canoeing & just "kicking back". The
hike up S. China Mountain is tough, but the view from the top is
absolutely stunning.
Hospitality here has been warm &
wonderful. Tracy & Nanci had great suggestions on trails to hike &
places to paddle. Great food, too! (The home-made granola was
fantastic!) Verne & Mary Redman & the kids, Renton, WA
